what I’ve been doing and photographing

june portraiture

Earlier this month I did a lovely double session on Hampstead Heath using a mix of digital and film; Jack was looking for an author portrait for his upcoming book release, and Temi wanted a one roll shoot on 35mm. It was loads of fun nailing a shot for Jack (and taking several hundred!) alongside getting 36 goes for Temi on Kodak Ektar 100.

I’d like to keep doing these one roll film shoots as they’re loads of fun as well as a real challenge. The contrast of shooting Jack with instant results - and reactions - woven in with a few minutes of very focussed shooting with Temi was a great reminder of why I shoot film in my personal work, and how it hopefully makes me a better photographer on digital too.

And we even got a chance to take a few paired shots - what dream subjects.
