what I’ve been doing and photographing

september 2023

Notes from September. It is time to upgrade my phone as the camera is failing.

Desk-based, gym-based, constant-sore-throat. I went to two weddings, stroked three cats I am fond of and met a new member of the family. It remained and remains frighteningly warm.

I saw a fox in the park on the way back from a party in the early hours. It made no moves as I came within a metre of it, relaxed in that curled pose familiar in its hybrid of cat and dog. I saw it again last night, scratching itself languorously under the carpark lights below our balcony with black-tipped ears cocked. I admire its ownership of our neighbourhood though it can only have been here a coupe of months.

I say all the time that I miss the internet, but I use the internet to say it. All I really mean is that I miss a different version of myself. I miss when I knew less; I miss when there was more time.
