Summer @ Hub 67

Some snaps from Hub 67's Summer Celebration for the Hackney Wick community this past Sunday. Hub 67 is a fabulous community centre run by The Yard Theatre where I work, and does a whole lot of awesome things.

It rents out its back space at reduced rates for locals, for everything from spoken word workshops to rehearsals to Chair Disco for carers over 50 (our personal Monday morning favourite). It works with local schools for activities like workshops and an After School Club. It holds events like Sunday's Summer Celebration which boasted a BBQ, drama workshops, rangoli painting and a whole lot of food and arts and crafts. It also facilitates youth theatre, which its only going to start doing more of.

It's a brilliant place to call an office. And in an area that is changing so rapidly and in many ways at great cost to its current community, it's a really important space too.
