Hello, I’m Alex. I work in strategy, comms, policy and research, with a focus on digital society and emerging technologies. I have a decade of cross-sector experience spanning the UK’s national research institute into data science and AI, international NGOs and the Institute of Contemporary Arts. You can find out more on LinkedIn and in my portfolio.
I hold an MSc in Digital Anthropology from University College London and an MA in Modern History from the University of Oxford, and my research interests centre around data rights and participatory data stewardship. I’m a trained ethnographer, and have looked at digital society through the lens of community data trusts, cold water swimming, buying and selling on Gumtree and beyond - more here.
My photographs have been published online, in print, and on the Big Screen. I shoot on digital and 35mm, and currently specialise in author portraits which you can find across tens of thousands of hardbacks in the UK and abroad. If you’d like to talk about a photograph, get in touch.
